About

Hey there!

I’m Filippo Braun, a 19-year-old incoming freshman at Harvard from Austria with a deep curiosity for people, ideas, and the forces that shape our world. My main interests lie in public policy, politics, rhetoric, and leadership, especially where communication, culture, and decision-making intersect. Recently, I completed a traineeship at the European Parliament, where I had the chance to experience politics and international cooperation from the inside and further deepen my interest in public affairs.

At the same time, I’ve always believed that growth happens across disciplines. Beyond politics, I’m passionate about public speaking, music, finance, psychology, and the kinds of conversations that make you rethink the way you see the world. Whether it’s playing piano late at night, discussing ideas for hours, traveling, or building new projects, I’m drawn to experiences that challenge me intellectually and personally.

This blog is a space for exactly that: exploring ideas, reflecting on experiences, documenting lessons I learn along the way, and hopefully connecting with others who share a similar curiosity. Here, you’ll find thoughts on politics, communication, leadership, education, personal growth, and whatever else happens to fascinate me at the time. Some posts may be serious, some more experimental, but all of them are part of an ongoing process of learning and figuring things out.

I’m still building and refining this platform, so expect it to evolve over time. Thank you for being here early.

Feel free to explore, leave a comment, or reach out. I’d genuinely love to hear your thoughts, perspectives, and ideas.

Q&A- Get to Know Me!

What’s a hobby you can’t imagine giving up?

Playing the piano! It’s my favorite way to unwind and express myself. Even though I’ve only been playing for a few years, it has already become one of the most essential parts of my daily life!

What’s a personal quote you live by?

Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t – you’re right.” – Henry Ford

I really like this quote because it emphasizes the huge impact our mindset has on our success. It shows that proper manifestation can go a long way!

Coffee or tea?

Coffee, hands down. Although I wouldn’t consider myself a coffee addict, I really enjoy a nice cup of coffee in the morning. It just gets the day started perfectly!

What’s one song you can’t stop listening to?

Chopin’s Ballade No. 1 in G minor! It’s intense and emotional, just the way I like it. Even though it’s still far beyond my current level, it really motivates me to keep practicing.

If you had a superpower, what would it be?

Definitely flying! I’ve always enjoyed being in the sky, and being able to just float around wherever I please would be just awesome!

What’s one small thing that brings you joy?

My morning commute to school or the library—I always look forward to it! Even though it only lasts roughly 15 minutes, I get to listen to my favorite music, making it a really important part of my daily routine.

What’s one travel experience you’ll never forget?

Wandering through Tokyo at night and randomly stumbling upon the beautiful Asakusa Shrine. It felt like something straight out of a book!
