What Munich Reminded Me Of

Hey everyone, how’s it going?

It has been a while since my last post, and I want to apologize for the silence! The past few weeks have been packed with work, planning, and a lot of moving pieces in my life. Every day I felt like I would finally sit down to write, but something always pulled me in a different direction. At some point I realised that I had not posted in much longer than I expected.

Recently I spent a day in Munich with my father. We walked through the city, talked about current plans, grabbed food, and let the afternoon unfold on its own. It was a beautiful day, just look at the picture I added! What struck me was how quickly I shifted into the rhythm of a larger city. Munich is not overwhelming, but it has a certain pace that feels different from my day-to-day life in a small town. People move faster, conversations pick up more energy, and everything feels slightly more urgent.

I noticed how easily I adapt to that environment. It is almost automatic. You arrive, you breathe in the noise, and you start matching it. But when I came back home later, things slowed down again. Life here gives you space to think without feeling like you have to keep up with anything. That contrast made me realise how busy the past months have been and how rarely I stop to reflect.

Maybe this is part of growing up. Maybe it is simply a reminder to check in with myself a bit more often. In any case, I wanted to share it with you, especially since it connects to why I have not posted in a while.

Thanks for coming by, and thank you for reading.

Best,
Filippo
